“Fact and Fiction: Imagining the West” is set in the Almeria province of southern Spain. This desert region often served as a substitute for the American West in "Spaghetti Western" cinema that emerged in Europe in the mid 1960’s. Three former film studios remain in the Tabernas Desert. In addition to photographing these sets and location used for films, I went to bars, brothels, and beyond to make photographs evocative of a modern-day western. 2012 - 2013
